Argentinian pastries and more

This week I'm skipping school for a good reason: I'm taking a 4 day workshop with an argentinian pastry chef. Yesterday we made vanilla genoise cake, strawberry mousse, chocolate mousse and dulce de leche rolls. We put the cake and mousses in the fridge; today we'll slice the cake, alternate layers of mousse and cover it in chocolate. Sounds good huh?

It doesnt look that pretty because we were supposed to chill it for a while and let the dulce de leche set...

V a l e n t i n e ' s

Valentine's week was a very exciting and busy one. I spent 3 days preparing tons of cookies... I had almost no space to work in! I def need a bigger kitchen... [ coming soon =) ]

Day 1: I made cookie dough, red and white icing, red and white fondant.
Day 2: Hundreds of cookies were baked. I burnt some... and had to make more dough.
Day 3: Got home from work at 7pm, started making mini-cheesecakes and decorating cookies. I went to bed past 4am. I wasn't sleepy at all [I'm a late night kind of panda] but I had trouble waking up the next day.

On the 14th I made music man's lunch: churrasco, risotto al vino rosso, salad [lettuce/tomato/baby mozzarella/tamarind balsamic glaze]. Dinner was on him but I decided to make dinner too: chinese dinsum and sushi =).
